To split by the field #4 into pages​

Overview​

This menu command divides the fields #3 and #4 into new pages. It is useful when you want to split a long text into exact numbered parts.

When you click the menu command the dialog window appears. In there is an instruction what to do:

💡The page becomes divided into new pages by fields #3 and #4.

💡A mark @n\ consists of three characters, and n is the page number.

💡Put the mark before new pages in the text.

The first mark is placed before the first new page, and the last one before the last new page!

Split the page?

When you click the buttonOK, the current page will be split into multiple pages according to your marks.

The command uses the same parser as fields #3/#4, so the page markers can look like @1\ (@10\, @ 1 \ are also supported by the parser).

What happens after splitting​

  • The page is replaced by several new pages.
  • Existing field content is distributed by the markers:
    • field #4 is always split using the @n\ markers;
    • field #3 is also split if you add the same page marks there;
    • fields #6 and #7 are carried over to the new pages as well.
  • In field #6, a temporary identifier can be added to each new page for internal grouping.

How to use after splitting​

Now you can repeat each generated page as an independent learning unit.

Important note​

Use page numbers that reflect the real order of your fragments (@1\, @2\, @3\, ...).
